WHERE THE FIRE STARTED: MEET SARAH KNIGHT
A disruptor for good: self-leadership & behavioural science mentor
I’m a huge champion for women in business, meeting them at the point where their ambitions, responsibilities and their real life collide.

I don’t do theory from a safe distance
My work’s grounded in behavioural science and lived experience in equal measure. I bring the kind of thinking that resonates because it’s been tested in the world, in the moment, in the middle of it.
I built this on grit, graft and hard-won evidence
Six months pregnant, facing redundancy and with no job to go to, I started my own business on gritty determination alone. Not because I had a plan, but because I had no other choice.
Cue two decades of building: as a Communications Director, then a Workplace Consultant, People Director, and Business Mentor, excelling in roles that put people at the heart of strategy long before it was common practice to do so. Along the way, I’ve lectured in leadership and resilience, led teams through periods of complexity and change, and coached individuals through the kind of crossroads that don’t come with a manual.
Been there and I’ve done that
I’ve navigated storms along the way: divorce, trauma, loss, and I don’t say that to perform vulnerability. I say it because it shapes why I practise what I preach, and if I’m honest, I’ve had to practise it a great deal more than I’d have chosen.
Trusted by leading organisations along the way
Over the course of my career I’ve worked with global corporations, UK-based businesses and founder-led companies. I’ve been trusted by organisations including Experian, McLaren, Santander, Boots, JCB, Hello Fresh, Exolum, The Gym Group, Seddons and the FA to create high-impact spaces where real conversations happen and meaningful progress follows.

Three big wins
I work in a way that brings:
- Clarity without simplification
- Challenge without judgement
- Safety without softness
The hill I’ll die on
When women start owning their worth instead of perpetually trying to prove it, everything shifts. The organisations they work in see it. The businesses they run reflect it. The people they lead feel it.
You’ve already earned your next chapter. No more proof points: not one more performance review, not one more carefully worded case asking for what you deserve. It’s earned.
Oh, and did I mention I chat?
I’m also the host of award-winning It’s Got Pockets – the Best Podcast winner known for honest, no-polish conversations about resilience, identity and reinvention.
Why FoundHer Fire?
I couldn’t find the scaffolding. So I built it.
I knew what it was to hold up the sky for everyone else: your ambitions gather dust on a shelf you never reach for, the ache of not yet tried, the tender spot of sensing there was nowhere to test things out. I was familiar with that itch of a brain full of ideas butting against a diary full of everyone else’s priorities.
And then there was the isolation. Not the obvious kind. The quiet kind that comes from never quite having a room where you fully belong. Where you can put down what you’re carrying, think out loud without editing yourself, and be championed by women who get it, who cheerlead without gatekeeping, who rise alongside you rather than ahead of you.
So I looked for that space. A place to rebuild, reimagine and rewrite the rules. A scaffolding system of self-leadership for experienced women in business at that life stage where everything collides: career, leadership, family, identity and energy. Where the question shifts from what more can I do to how do I want to lead and live from here? A space where the complexity and hard-won wisdom of this particular life stage were finally given their truest value.
I looked. It didn’t exist. So I built it.

The scaffolding for self-leadership starts here
FoundHer Fire is a community that connects through experience, not job titles, roles, industry, sector or business type, so the brilliance inside it is cognitively diverse, collective and hard-won.
The work that takes place in there is built around confidence, courage, clarity and energy mastery, collaboration, connection and conversation. I designed it to meet you in your actual model of the world, not a version that frankly doesn’t exist.
It’s a self-leadership scaffolding system that serves you, not something that you have to constantly serve.
If you’re investing in yourself: I’m inside the room with you – in the live calls, the advisory board sessions and the thinking that happens in between. Access isn’t a feature; it’s the point.
If you’re an organisation sponsoring access: My frameworks are trusted by the UK’s leading businesses precisely because they are grounded in both research and reality. FoundHer Fire is a performance scaffolding system for the experienced women your organisation can’t afford to lose.
